The thing is writing about conspiracy theories is really hard because they, like alternative medicine, are already beyond parody. If you think of something really, really silly then search for it on google you will find a conspiracy theory website (or alt. med. site) that says the same thing but they are serious.
So it started with a joke about the Lib Dems clearly having their minds controlled by some evil force, that was the only way to explain their recent abandoning of all of their principles. Googled “mind control” and hey presto a man who believes that Simon and Garfunkel's “The Sound of Silence” is a song about a mind control weapon. To be honest we had found all we needed.
